Hetalia: Italy x Reader: (1/2) Texts and Calls

You carefully opened the neatly folded paper, it was from that cute Italian waiter, and it read:

Heya bella, this is Feliciano~!! Seeing you sitting alone today made me wonder, why would someone as beautiful as you be sitting alone? It doesn't make sense! 

Would you like to go out with me sometime~?  

- Feliciano XXX/XXXX/XXXX

You read the note again, just to be sure. He really did call you beautiful and asked you out! 

"Are you-a ok?" Feliciano's grandpa asks, "Is-a there something wrong? You're-a bright rosso! Do you want-a water!" 

You laughed awkwardly, realising that you probably have a deep blush on your cheeks, "I-I'm fine!! Thank you for the food! Bye!" And with that, you tucked in your seat and quickly walked out of the restaurant in embarrassment. 

Once you arrived home you threw off your coat and shoes and ran upstairs to your bedroom, where you saved the number on your phone. "I should text to let Feli know I have read his note.." You said aloud to no one but yourself, "But what should I say?"

After a while of texting and deleting, you finally made up your mind and wrote. 'Hey Feli, this is _____~! Thanks for the note you sent me earlier~!!' You decided to keep it simple for now since you had only just met Feliciano, and/or, you had nothing else to say.

You stared at your phone, blinked, and there was a reply! "Wow, that was quick.." You said, smiling. 

It read, 

'Heya~!! So you got the note! Sorry, I wanted to give it to you but when I was about to leave, my fratello stopped me because I didn't finish cooking the pizza. He then started yelling at me when it almost burnt... So I handed it to my grandpa~!! I'm on my break now but, I bet, any moment my fratello will drag me back to work! Ahh~ I really want a siesta~!

You giggled at his care-free attitude and replied, 

'Hahaha, it is alright Feli~!! I didn't know you also cook! Heheh, and is work really that harsh? Surely Lovino should've finished baking the pizza for you and then it wouldn't have to be burnt... poor pizza..." 

A few moments later, your phone beeped, you received another text from Feli! And it said,

'Yeah~! I cook~!! Can you~? My brother, my grandpa and I always switch every now and then. Oh! That must mean you've met my fratello~!! My fratello is mean! Leaving a pizza to burn like that! Actually... it might've been my fault.. But I didn't want you to leave without asking you out, even if it meant having to sacrifice an innocent pizza!"

You giggled, a light blush on your cheeks and replied, 

'Wow! So you're a good-looking waiter and a cook?! That's so cool~!! Sort of? I can sorta cook... If it is toast and sandwiches, then yeah! I can't cook anything fancy though... Lovino is just like that, I guess it is a way to he says loves you, no? ....And also thanks to the innocent pizza, I hope it rests in peace." 

You pressed send. "Wait, what?!" You read through your recently sent text again, "No! Why did I say that?!" You fell flat on the bed, you were so energetic and comfortable in texting, you had spilled most things like you couldn't cook very well and..that he was good looking!! But it was sort of true though he is very, very good looking! And, yeah.. sadly, you couldn't cook anything fancy - but you might have over-exaggerated when you said you could only make toast and sandwiches.  

You thought and thought, and then, your phone beeped- interrupting you. Another text! 

'Heheh, thanks bella~!! You're too nice~!! And, you can't cook? Really? Do you want me to teach you sometime~? Ack! I have to go! My fratello is yelling at me again!! If yelling and being mean means my fratello loves me, he must love me so very much!! Ciao~!"

You giggled and texted, 'Yes, please, that'd be awesome~!! Aww, brotherly love~!'  

You looked around the house, "I should really be doing something..." 

The house sparkled, probably because you had just finished cleaning it. While you were taking out the trash, you thought you heard a loud ring. You soon ran back into the kitchen, washed your hands, and then looked for the phone. You wondered where it was, you had even called it as if it would shout back, "Hey ____, I'm here!!" You gasped, what if you had put it in the bin?! You began to run back outside until you saw a glimpse of your phone. It was there, leaning on the edge of the table - the last place you put it. You deeply sighed, yelling at yourself in your head, how did you not see that it was there?! 

You checked your phone, there was one miss call - it was from Feli. 

You rang back, and waited patiently. You started to get nervous all of a sudden. You heard someone answer the call.

"Herro?" A voice said, it didn't sound Italian...

"Er.. Hi?" You replied back, unsure. 

"Ah, it is you ______." The voice called, it sounded familiar...

"K-Kiku?" You asked, "Is that you?"

"Hai, good evening." He said, his tone polite as usual, you knew Kiku as the smart, quiet boy in your university class.  

"Why are you on Feli's phone?"

"Werr, Fericiano now didn't want to answer it... He said he is rearry nervous." He said.

"Why?" You asked. Why would that bubbly Italian be nervous? 

"Werr-- Mr Rudwig prease!!" He was interrupted by ... Ludwig? Oh yes, you knew him, he was that egoistic Gilbert's younger brother. 

"Because he is scared that you'll say no." Ludwig said through the phone sternly. 

"S-say no to, what?" You asked nervously. 

For awhile, Ludwig had not replied, you just heard, "Oi, Feliciano, you have to tell her yourself! Or else I'll make you run double your laps!"

"Veh!? I don't-a wanna!!" Feliciano wailed.

"Prease! Don't cry Feri! You have to do this!!" You heard Kiku encourage him, "You rearry rike her, right?" 

"V-veh," He whimpered, "I-I'll try...."

You heard the phone being handed to Feliciano, "Good luck." You heard them say both simultaneously. You then heard the kitchen door swing open and close again. 

"Veh, veh, veh," He stuttered, "T-this is Feliciano.."

You couldn't think of anything else to say but, "What just happened?"

"Heheheh, Ludwig and-a Kiku just-a visited me at-a work, sorry, I-a sorta told them about you..."

"It's all right, Feli! You have great friends!" You laughed through the phone, "I am glad to have met them!" 

"Y-yeah," He replied.

"So, what's up Feli? Why'd ya want to call me in the first place? It was you who called me first, right?" 

"Y-yeah, I was-a wondering." He said softly. "canyougooutfordinnerwithmetomorrownight...?"

"Sorry, what? I didn't hear anything..." You whispered back, and then you heard,

"Oi! Hurry-a up Feliciano!! Just-a say it already!" Lovino growled.

"Y-yes fratello.." He said before taking a deep breath. "Hey-a bella, do you-a mind if I-a take you out for-a dinner tomorrow?" 

You paused. That was what he was nervous about? Really? Well, even though seeing him turn shy was surprising - it was also really cute!

"Hello, ____?" He asked through the phone, interrupting you and your thoughts, "Are-a you there?"

"Yes, I'm here Feli!" You said, a bit loudly through the phone, "And yes, I would love to go out for dinner with you tomorrow!" 

"Veh?!" He sounded surprised, "Really?!"

"Y-yeah, really."

"Okay~ So-a tomorrow at-a 7?" 

You looked at your calendar, yes, you're free. "Yep!"

You heard the kitchen door open through the phone, "Ohononon, Feli, you are asking out a girl~?" 

"Sì, it is-a _____ --" 

You then heard a girlish scream, "YYAA! It's Francis! Ludwig, protect me!!" 

And another girlish yell, "AAh! It's Ludwig!!"

"Prease! Everyone! Carm down!!" A Japanese voice panicked.

"Unhand me you fiend!" While a German voice yelled. 

"Er..." Was what you only could say through the phone.

"Yeah, fratello has-a been scared of big brother Francis for a while now... especially when he-a pays surprise visits to the restaurant~!!"

"Haha," You laughed, "but, er, shouldn't you go sort it out... it sounds like chaos over there!" 

"Yeah, I-a really should~!" He chuckled, "Well, meet-a you here, at-a the restaurant I work at, tomorrow at 7~!! Yep?" 

"Yeah!" You smiled through the phone, "Bye! And good luck with that ruckus!"

"Ciao~!" He yelled through the phone, the chatter and yells growing louder. 

You hung up and sighed, the smile on your face not leaving. It was already late now, so you decided to hit the hay. You changed clothes and dove into your plush, bouncy bed. You closed your eyes and thought about your new (boy?)friend, and couldn't wait for tomorrow! While clutching your phone to your chest, you heard it beep. There was a text. It was from Feli. 

'Sorry to disturb you bella, I just forgot to say... Good night and sweet dreams~!' 

After reading the text, your smile grew wider, and dozed off to sleep. A soft smile on your sleeping face.
