You sighed as you sat down on a soft, white chair in an Italian restaurant. Even though this was your favourite restaurant, you felt a bit sick. It was probably because everyone around you had a special someone to spend Valentines' with.
You looked around at the happy couples, the air wasn't the same as it usually was... it was more... lovey. You didn't mind couples, of course, but when they take their time smothering it in your single face - you get really irritated. You just have to tolerate this day and then enjoy 364 days where they won't show off as much.

You gazed up at the clock.. 1 o'clock already?! Sure you had a comfortable sleep, but since when do you over sleep this late?! You opened the neatly folded up note, it was from that Italian waiter called Lovino. You stared at the paper, it read:

Ciao, this is Lovino.

I saw you sitting alone today and I was wondering if maybe, if you want to, you'd like to hang out with me sometime. If you don't mind that is. I don't really care. But if you want to, I'd go. Here is my number, just call me if you'd like.

Your heart fluttered, he just asked you out! As you stared at the piece of paper, you felt your face warming up.

"____?" Lovino's grandpa said, "Are-a you alright? You look a bit-a red.."

"Y-yes! I-i am fine!" You said awkwardly laughing. "Thank you for the delicious meal!! I'll be going now, bye!" you waved goodbye, standing up and tucking your chair in.

He nodded and waved back, "You-a welcome bella, ciao~!"

You left the restaurant with the door's bell softly ringing behind you.

When you gotten home, you saved the number and texted,

'Hi, this is ____'

You couldn't think of anything else to say, but when you finally decided to type something, your finger slipped and the text was sent!

You frowned and hit yourself with a pillow, shouting in it, "Lovino is gonna think I am very awkward! This is so so embarrassing!!"

After a while, your phone beeped. There was a text from Lovino.

'Hey raggaza, this is Lovino. I'm on my break now. Sorry for replying late, but my stupid fratello almost burnt a pizza and there was this American man with a fake mustache saying some nonsense to me. I guess he thought it was Italian... that stupido.'

You laughed at the text and replied, 'Hahaha, really? It must be really tough where you work! I feel kinda sorry for you! That American man, did he happen have a weird cowlick above his head and glasses? It sounds a lot like something what my friend Alfred would do! : )'

A few moments passed when your phone beeped once again, 'Sì, it is a pain working here! I am a waiter and a cook here along with my fratello, but I always have to clean up after him when he messes up! Yeah... I think he did have a cowlick and glasses... Your friends sound weird... no offence..'

You giggled and replied, 'No offence taken~!! That is Al, he is pretty weird... Sorry about him! And you cook? I have a British friend who definitely can't cook even if his life depended on it!! He burnt my kitchen once! He said he was going to make a batch of scones and when I went to check on him, the kitchen was a dark, coal colour!! I think something exploded...'

'Sì, I can cook, I always switch with my fratello every now and then. Did this British guy have amazingly huge eyebrows? Because there was one scolding the American earlier! Can you cook ragazza? Ack! I have to get back from my break! Oh and look, my grandpa is chatting up ladies again... Isn't he a bit.. er I dunno... too old?!!'

You exploded in laughter, you really liked his bitter sense of humor- it really added to his charm! 'Yeah! I have such weird friends right!? Don't get me started on the others, especially Francis, Antonio and Gilbert!! Your grandpa is really nice and really funny! Well.. I can cook a few things... I can't make anything fancy though... Good luck at work!"

Sent. You blushed at realising what you've been texting him for the past 15 mins... It felt like you have known him for a really long time now.

There was a text sent a few minutes later, 'Thanks, I'll try to survive.'

You laughed and turned off your phone. Now it was time to do other things, than to think of your new Italian (boy?)friend, you had chores to do!

While you vacuumed, you saw your phone violently dive off the table edge in the living room. You heard it collapse with a THUD. There was a call from Lovino. Without a second to spare, you silenced the vacuum and answered it.

"Hi?" You spoke through, shyly.

"Hey-a bell-- i mean ragazza."

"Hiya Lovino, I thought you were working.."

"Yeah, I'm-a finally on-a my break again..."

"So what's up?"

"I was-a just wondering if you'd like to go somewhere with-a me tomorrow... you know, if you-a like to."

"Where's that, Lovino?"

"That's a surprise, I guess..."

"Hehehe, ok then, what time?"

"Anytime, if your available..."

"Really? How 'bout at 3pm? Oh, and where should we meet?"

"Yeah, 3 sounds-a good. Do you-a wanna meet-a here, where I-a work at?"

"Sure~!"

"So it's-a date then?"

"Y-yeah!!" You stuttered blushing...

You heard on the phone, "Veh~ Who is-a that fratello~? You-a have to get back to-a work~!!"

"I-a know...Ciao ____ .." He sighed.

"You can survive Lovino! See ya!"

You hung up and squealed, running upstairs to jump into your soft, puffy bed. "Oh my! He asked me out!!" You squeezed your pillow. You really couldn't wait for the next day to come!
